Laboratories Information

The mission of the Computer Science Laboratory (CSLab) is to support the Department's educational work and in particular its specialized needs that cannot be effectively met by the Computer Center.

The Laboratories consist of 3 rooms equipped with the appropriate hardware and software. The two rooms are located on the 2nd and 3rd floors of the Derigni Wing of the AUEB main building. They are open Monday through Friday 9:00 am to 9:00 pm. The third room is located on the 4th floor of the Antoniadou Wing. The site has 14 workstations and is intended primarily for student work. The total capacity of the lab rooms is one hundred twelve (112) workstations, and it is also possible to host users with laptops by providing wireless access to the University's network.

CSlab covers exclusively the needs of the Department of Informatics, where tutorials and course labs take place. Software infrastructure (programming environments, databases, network simulators) enables tasks and studies to be performed on different subjects depending on the needs of each course. In this context, the laboratory participates in MSDNAA (Microsoft Software Developers Network Academic Alliance), and also supports the development of applications using Open Source Software such as PHP, MySQL.

For the smooth and continuous operation of the laboratory, the Department has trained staff who provide continuous support to students, daily from 9:00 am to 9:00 pm.
